"PET has helped us to create an excellent, user-friendly teaching resource. We were impressed by their logical and thorough approach and the way they resolved issues of structure and behaviour at an early stage. They made a real effort to understand the content and consider the aims of our product and the needs of the user. Their programming work was accurate and on time. They went the extra mile to supply us with a high quality CD-Rom and were a pleasure to work with.

Stuart Wilson from Westwood School spent 2 weeks with us on a work placement. He did a grand job helping out on production, winning himself £50 and a chance to come back in the summer!
We were delighted to take Stuart on for two weeks as Connexions do such a great job in placing all the young people in Coventry and we want to be a part of this fantastic effort and encourage others to do the same. Currently we have a Stoke Park student with us and will continue to do all we can to support and endorse the work experience process and the young people of Coventry.

Congratulations to Fleur who has been chosen as one of 1,000 female entrepreneurs recruited by the Government to inspire and encourage other women into the world of business. This involves work locally, for example with the Make Your Mark Campaign, which we all support. She went to Lancaster House today to meet Margaret Hodge and the other women who are involved in this exciting work.

The Arena Coventry Make Your Mark in Publishing Enterprise Challenge. PET was commissioned to produce materials and deliver a 5-day course. Arranged by Coventry City Council and funded by LEGI (Local Enterprise Growth Initiative), this was a fabulous event with 179 young people aged 16-19 giving up their whole half-term holiday to take part in the challenge at the Ricoh Arena.
Described as "a triumph"/ "ground breaking"/ "unbelievable"/ "wonderful" by many who visited (including an MP) due to the amount of young people inspired and the level to which they were engaged during the challenge. A very high profile and high energy event which was featured live on radio and in the local papers. We are hoping that many of the ideas are taken further as Coventry is the best place to be if you're looking to start a business right now.
A combination of LEGI funding and support and private investment means that Coventry is where it's all happening right now! Interested in LEGI? Have a look at their site. There's loads going on.

Enterprise Plus Networking Challenge (Part of the Make
Your Mark in Coventry campaign)"Thank you for the feedback we received regarding the service that you got from the Conference Centre I was delighted that you were happy with the venue. I would also just like to comment that myself and my team were very impressed by the attitude of the group that you brought along to the Centre.
All the teenagers were polite and helpful and it was great seeing them all working as a team and helping each other to ensure that their event ran well. It was great to see them raising money for Red Nose Day."
(Fiona Hawkins Conference Centre Manager, The Chamber of Commerce)
“It was fascinating to see how the youngsters developed from the start to the end of the week. They progressed so well and the results at the end of the week were amazing. The Coventry Ambassadors really enjoy supporting these events and get as much from it as the kids”
(Dave Long, Manager, Coventry Inspires)
“The kids were inspired and enthusiastic. The event really showed what they can achieve when they work together as a team. On the Friday their dress and body languages showed me that they were proud of what they had achieved and rose to the challenge of entering the world of business. Fabulous!!” (Wendy Browne, Enterprise Development Co-ordinator, Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce)
"I thought last weeks event was a huge success.During the course of the week, the young people grew in confidence and their business skills and creative thinking was just inspiring. I really enjoyed working with them all!

Business Networking Lunch
Campion School Enterprise ChallengeA brilliant one-day event with 270 Campion School Year 10 students. As with all our events, all students received trophies, certificates and prizes were sponsored by local businesses ranging from the local theatre who donated tickets, to vouchers from McDonalds. Many visitors from the business community stopped off to support them during the day. Each team of 10 came up with a business idea and created a business plan throughout the day. A fabulous, non-stop day which was on TV and in the local papers.
We continue to love the work we do in other areas ... delivering training as part of the Business Link workshops in a range of subjects, with such a great diverse group of people attending these sessions. Enterprise days continue to be busy and "Get Connected", the group for young people in Foleshill continues to grow.
"An inspiration" ,
(Graham Elston, course attendee.)
"Thanks for the session yesterday – it was really inspiring".(Eira)
"...have found all of the Business Link Managing for Success courses beneficial but yesterday was the most inspirational one . Not only did I get some clear pointers on how I need to market myself and business but felt confident and empowered to do by the end of the session"
(G. Elston, Magna Human Resources Services)
The technical department is very, very busy at the moment with a number of e-learning projects for key clients approaching their final phases and several new projects starting in various stages of development. Projects include a gorgeous whiteboard Phonics product for Key Stage 1; an on-line testing system for those learning English and pre-sessional materials for Warwick University.
There is also a really nice project in development with partners in the Mobile and Wireless sector. All of this, as usual, is under wraps and totally confidential until our clients receive and launch the products. When we are free to show you the work, we will because we're so proud of the different products; they're really beautiful!
Friends and Colleagues
Dave Long has been fabulous, supporting our work and all of our events recently creating loads of momentum both by attending and getting others along and supporting what we're doing. He runs The Coventry Ambassadors and is manager of Coventry Inspires. A huge supporter of Coventry and as a former Double Olympic Marathon Runner, is a great inspiration to the young people we work with. As a company we are doing all we can to help in the bid to develop Coventry; it's a great place to live and work.
