Finham Success

Finham Park School Group PhotoA group of students from Finham Park School have just completed their ASDAN Wider Key Skills, with each one gaining the equivalent of 2 ¼ GCSEs.

The programme was hosted at the Herbert Art Gallery and Museum over 2 weeks. It not only incorporated our usual blend of enjoyable activities based around the modern world using local entrepreneurs, but the Finham students were also lucky enough to work with important guests from the city.

The students worked on our Coventry Be Inventive Challenge and were joined by several of Coventry’s Ambassadors along with Councillors and the school’s governors.

Viv McGinnis, Deputy Head of Finham Park School, said, “The programme is a great preparation for post-16 life, it’s challenged them in a different way and was a rare opportunity to get something extra out of education.”

One of the students, Emma, said, “I gained more confidence throughout the two weeks and feel I have achieved more communication skills as I am more confident talking to people... I have worked really hard but loved it!’

We’re looking forward to working with more students from Finham Park School soon.
